Artist Bio

Katie Beyer, mezzo-soprano, is a native of New Orleans, LA. As a classically trained vocalist, she has experience performing a variety of genres, including opera, art song, sacred music, and musical theatre.

 

Katie is currently enrolled at Colorado State University as a Vocal Performance major, where she studied with Dr. Tiffany Blake, soprano. Katie is an active participant in the school’s Charles and Reta Ralph Opera Program, and has performed in productions of A Little Night Music (Fredrika Armfeldt), Serse, Die Zauberflӧte, Orfeo ed EuridiceRiders to the Sea, and L'enfant et les sortilèges (Un patre/Une autre bete). In the spring of 2020, Katie was slated to perform in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance as The Pirate King, but the production was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

In June/July of 2019, Katie performed in the Voci nel Montefeltro Festival as a part of the La Musica Lirica Young Artist Program. During this time, she performed scenes from Mozart's Idomeneo (Idamante) and Verdi's Falstaff (Meg), as well as a chorus member of the mainstage production of Rigoletto. Additionally, Katie performed in the academy concerts and masterclasses.

 

Katie is also passionate about her work as a singer-songwriter. She is currently working on her first solo album, which she plans on releasing later this year.

 

When not performing or honing her musical skills, Katie can often be found reading, listening to Taylor Swift, or enjoying a cup of coffee.
